Dental Bleaching Statement EU

Cavex Bite&White

The Council of the European Union released an official announcement concerning cosmetic products.

The Annex III of Cosmetic Directive 76/768/EEC is adapted and all Member States shall adopt this before 30 October 2012.

Main issue in this publication related to the dental industry:

Tooth whitening or bleaching products containing >0.1 % hydrogen peroxide < 6 % can only be sold to dental practitioners.
For each cycle of use, first us by dental practitioners or under their direct supervision if an equivalent level of safety is ensured.
Afterwards to be provided to the consumer to complete the cycle of use.
Not to be used on a person under 18 years of age.

This means that the initial registration of Cavex Bite&White as a cosmetic product was correct and that Cavex Bite&White is still in full compliance with this new legislation.
