The pH of 3 % Cavex ImpreSafe solution is 8 – 10 which is comparable to the pH of soap.
How many impressions can be disinfected with 1 Liter, 3 % solution?
Cavex ImpreSafe can be used as long as the liquid is still not contaminated with debris and the impressions are completely covered by the liquid when they are in the container.
How long can the Cavex ImpreSafe solution be used?
The 3 % solution of Cavex ImpreSafe is effective for approximately 1 week. Then the solution has to be renewed. Of course, when the solution is often used and contamination is visible, renewal is strongly recommended.
What if the contact time is longer then 3 minutes?
Cavex ImpreSafe is tested for contact times up till 10 minutes and double disinfection (2 x 3 minutes) In all situations the compatibility, detail reproduction and dimensional stability are clinically acceptable however, prolonged contact times always results in less impression quality.

The ingredients of Cavex ImpreSafe are not aggressive to artificial teeth and denture base
What is the effect of Cavex ImpreSafe on instruments and metals?

To obtain 3 % solution, pour 30 ml of Cavex ImpreSafe to the reservoir and dilute with tap
water to 1 liter. The bottle of Cavex ImpreSafe is specially designed for easy measuring 30
ml of Cavex ImpreSafe. Avoid return of the liquid in the reservoir while dosing.
What is the effect of Cavex ImpreSafe when the impressions are not properly rinsed and small amounts of blood and saliva are still present?
In accordance with all relevant specifications Cavex ImpreSafe is tested under clean and
dirty conditions. Even under severe dirty conditions the effectiveness of Cavex ImpreSafe
could easily be validated.
Is Cavex ImpreSafe effective against tuberculosis?
The wall of Mycobacteria, such as of Mycobacterium tuberculosis is composed of
polysaccharides. It thus resembles the materials used in dental impressions, such as
alginates. The disinfectants that are efficient in destroying the mycobacteria are therefore
also “efficient in” damaging the stability of the impressions. Case and example are the
alcohol-based disinfectants. The formulation of CAVEX ImpreSafe needs > 60 minutes to
obtain the required Log 4 reduction. Therefore, we consider Cavex ImpreSafe not effective against tuberculosis
Is Cavex ImpreSafe effective against COVID-19
For testing the virucidal activity of Cavex ImpreSafe against the Corona virus, the “Feline Corona” virus was used. A surrogate virus, due to the high biological risk of the Beta Corona viruses. Testing was performed by Viroxy Labs in Malaysia, a laboratory specialized in microbiology and ISO17025 accredited. For this test a quantitative suspension test was used according to EN14476:2013+A1:2015 under both clean and dirty conditions. The tests confirmed the effectiveness of Cavex ImpreSafe against the Feline Coronavirus because the results exceeded a log 4 (99,99%) reduction
